Last week we took part in the Living Memory Project.

Living Memory was a 141 day project to mark the 141 days of the Somme.

The Living Memory project remembered the “forgotten front” – the 300,000 war graves and commemorations right here in the UK.

We provided a day of activity and celebration to honor Remembrance Day and the people who died in the two world wars – they will never be forgotten!

Participants devised their own service with knitted and hand made poppies, war songs, designed and created war medals, poems and readings. A representative(s) of the group then took some of the created items to some of the nearest CWGC’s sites e.g. Rothley, Quorn and Shepshed.

Communities coming together and living memories, stories being passed on from generation to generation.
