‘Devils (and Angels) wear Prada’ for biggest girls night out in Leicester!
More than 1000 women, dressed head-to-toe in saint and sinner fancy dress, strutted their stuff around Leicester on Saturday night as they took part in this year’s annual LOROS Twilight Walk.
The women, who were all raising money for LOROS Hospice, set off on the 10km route from Leicester City’s King Power Stadium at 7.30pm.
From there, they snaked through the streets of the city, through Jubilee Square, past the High Cross Shopping Centre, Clock Tower, Town Hall and Victoria Park, before eventually making their way back to the Foxes ground.
Along the way, they were entertained by Naomi Kent, of Gem 106, along with dancers, singers, cheerleaders, drummers and a Gospel Choir – as well as being cheered on by a team of volunteers and dedicated marshals.
A handful of businesses also got involved with the event, including Kono Pizza, Maiyango, Chutney Ivy, The Belmont Hotel and the Queen of Bradgate, who all opened their doors to provide participants with refreshments on route.
Prior to the start of the walk, the women turned the sky pink when they released very special balloons, each with special messages attached to them.
